This piece was originally called “May 1”, which is a big deal in many countries as a celebration of spring. On this day of traditional spring recognition, the sun wakens its own peaceful choir of light on Idaho's Lake Pend Oreille. I wanted to capture that eye-watering moment when the sun actually breaks over the horizon, with all the mist and silhouetted magic of dawn. I love that moment full of power and potential. And filled with that power, in the dawn I’ve climbed the tallest peak in this drawing a number of times, and been down by lunchtime.
The framed print features a brushed-metallic plaque listing the title of the piece, the artist, and your individual print number. The plaque emphasizes the uniqueness of your print: no one else in the world has your print and number.
